aifora on tour: a look back at the past few weeks

Lisbon, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Mainhausen. It’s been a whirlwind month for us. From Web Summit to the German Retail Congress, we’ve had a blast showing off our solutions, pitching on stage and networking, networking, networking! Here’s a look back at the past few weeks.

Web Summit, Lisbon

Web Summit: the largest technology conference in the world. From November 7th – 9th, close to 70,000 people from across the globe traveled to Lisbon to learn more about the hottest trends in tech. We were joined by the leaders of the world’s most powerful companies, influential investors, and other fast-growing new startups. Our days were filled with inspiring speeches and productive meetings, and our nights were filled with Night Summit festivities.

Our highlight: exhibiting in the Beta Zone. On November 8th, David Krings (CTO) and Jessica Smith (Marketing Manager) spent the day telling interested retailers, investors and potential partners about aifora’s SaaS solutions. The response was more than we ever could have hoped for. We can’t wait to come back to Web Summit next year!

German Fashion Retail Conference, Düsseldorf

While David Krings and Jessica Smith were exhibiting at the Web Summit in Lisbon, Boris von Brevern (Head of Business Development & Sales) and Natalie Horn (Business Development Manager) represented aifora at the German Fashion Retail Conference in Düsseldorf. Organised by TextilWirtschaft and BTE, this is the annual top event of the fashion industry. Over 400 guests attended this year’s event, which was held under the motto “Making Markets”.

Many well-known fashion retailers, including Peek & Cloppenburg, NKD and KiK, already rely on aifora’s services and Boris and Natalie were delighted to showcase aifora’s solutions to other fashion retailers. “At the German Fashion Retail Conference we were able to meet the Who’s Who of the fashion industry. We had exciting conversations and informed ourselves about current topics in interesting lectures,” states Boris von Brevern.

German Retail Congress, Berlin

The German Retail Congress is the most important retail conference in Germany and draws hundreds of retailers and solution providers to Berlin each year. Of course, we couldn’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity! For two days we exhibited at the Retail World convention, demonstrating our solutions to retailers from diverse industries.

In addition to exhibiting, Boris von Brevern (Head of Business Development & Sales) and Jessica Smith (Marketing Manager) also took to the stage. On November 14, Boris and Jessica pitched to retailers how they can “Achieve 6% more margin in 6 weeks – with aifora Intelligent Price Automation”on the Brain Snack Stage. While Jessica played the part of the disbelieving retailer, Boris played the part of aifora in a convincing performance.

ANWR Future Forum, Mainhausen

Last but not least, our conference tour ended with the ANWR Future Forum on November 19th and 20th at the ANWR Campus in Mainhausen. This was the ANWR Group’s second Future Forum and once again it was a huge success.

In five exhibition halls, the ANWR Future Forum presented new and innovative technologies that are changing the retail landscape. Boris and Natalie were there to present aifora’s solutions for intelligent price and stock automation and were thrilled with the hugely positive response from the shoe retailers.

Did you miss out? Don’t worry, we have lots more in store for you 2019! From the Retail Innovation Days in Heilbronn to EuroCIS in Düsseldorf to the World Retail Congress in Amsterdam, we can’t wait to hit the road again! Stay tuned for more infos.

Someone else’s computer: Is cloud computing secure?

We see many retail experts who are afraid of “the cloud”. But in the end, it’s just someone else’s computer. In order to process big amounts of information, we need a well-performing computer system that is robust and resilient.
